Regardless of the method, encaustics have such a warm, natural, organic energy to it. I have been actively working with encaustics for close to two decades, falling in love with the medium while studying at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston). There I first discovered a method to create a texture that I have not been able to replicate with any other medium. In the past few years, I have begun to incorporate phosphorescent and bio-luminescent elements, creating a duality to every piece depending on the light that it is seen in.
